ZEN DEN

The den project we started week before last is finished and it's soooo everything!

My client was sure of ONLY one thing. She wanted a comfortable couch. πŸ˜†πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

My job as a designer is to pull together all the elements my clients can't quite explain and make them come to life. I always say "Design is a feeling to me." So, when a client is expressing what they want even if it's not cohesive and all over the place there's an emotion in that and those are the ques I pick up on and run with.

Most of the time they don't know how to fully explain what they want. I tell them to not be ashamed of this. Infact, these are my favorite kinds of clients. I call them blank slates. They have no idea how it's gonna turn out but they trust me enough to know it's gonna be great. ☺

You get a feeling of what a client might want just by talking to them and picking up on key words here and there. To me, that's the beauty about design and being a interior designer. It's the connection I have with people that carry into my spaces. ❀

Needless to say, my client loved it! Moody, zen, den vibes. βœ”

Oh. I’ll be posting my entire progress of this project from beginning to end on my Instagram stories today. Be sure to follow. It’s just something about seeing the evolution of a journey that gives the end much more pleasure once revealed.

So, what's on the agenda for next week? On the previous post we discussed me adjusting my work schedule in order to check some to-do tasks off our wedding list.

Engagement photos are up next so, we'll be flying to Chicago to get those done. I can't wait! It's always a good time when I'm in my city. I'll be sure to let you guys know how it went. πŸ₯°

Till next time. Later readers. 😊
