WE DID IT!
Hi guys! Here to report mission success! ๐
If you are following my wedding progress you know that we've been on the hunt for the perfect wedding planner. You also know that we recently announced to our family and friends that the wedding will be held in Italy ๐ฎ๐น, Tuscany to be exact.
Well guys, we don't have to look any further! We have found our wedding planner and dare I say I'm in love with her already! There ...I said it! ๐
It's kinda like putting on a outfit and standing in the mirror, that feeling you get when you just know you don't need to try on any other dress because ๐ฃ this is it! That's how felt when I was talking to her. She just got it. She got me.
I'm a very organized and detailed person so it was imperative that my wedding planner matched my qualities. If you remember a couple of blog posts back I listed a number of things we could take care of ourselves while we were on the hunt for the perfect wedding planner. The venue, if you remember was at the top of that list. Well I secured that and had a vision board in place. After deciding on my wedding planner I revealed these accomplishments to her. She was floored and I quote (her words) "It's going to be a dream working with you." ๐
Listen when I tell you, knowing what you want is half the battle, finding the right person to execute it is the other half. From that point on we've been off to the races. Everything has been flowing seamlessly. I don't want to jinx anything but I'm very confident this Italian dream wedding will go off without a hitch and contrary to what iโve been told by other brides and those that have planned weddings, I might even enjoy the process of making it come to life (knock on wood.) โบ
One very important detail to take into consideration before choosing your wedding planner is "The destination." I canโt stress this enough. Take your time! This person will be handling one of the most major days in your life. You want to make sure they are knowledgeable, this is key. Most of all, for us destination brides, you want to hire someone who knows the lay of the land. This is an absolute must. It's already hard enough finding the right wedding planner but imagine all the barriers you'd have to break planning a wedding in another country without the right person at your side. There are rules and regulations you'd probably never heard of. It's kinda like planning a trip to another country. In a previous blog I laid out the steps you should take when doing this. At the top of the list was โEducate Yourselfโ with the rules/regulations and culture of the country you choose to visit.
My planner is from Italy, grew up in Tuscany where her mother currently lives. She's cultivated a lot of relationships with vendors which she use regularly in that region. Because she lives there, speaks the language and has relationships with vendors she's able to do most of things Iโm not able to do at the moment i.e going to the venue to take actual pics and measurements. Of course, you can see pics online taken by the establishment but there's nothing like a actual video call /unedited camera photos.
Another thing my planner did that made me feel even more confidant in my choice of her was, she put me in touch with three brides from the US ๐บ๐ธ that she had previously worked with. Ladies listen, word of mouth will forever be the best form of advertisement. As if I wasn't already sold, that sealed the deal. ๐ฅฐ
I'm telling you guys I feel like a weight has just been lifted off my shoulders...but not to worry I'm planning our engagement party on my own so there will be plenty of stress to go around. ๐
Tell me. When you met your planner did you just know they were the one? Was it, planner at first conversation? ๐
Till next time. Later readers. ๐
