Beach Please

I know, I know better late than never. In my defense, I'm still trying to tell my brain weโ€™re back, back to reality. So, what's happening? How's everyone doing? As you know Natasha's birthday was last week and I planned a birthday trip for her. Well, the birthday came and it went, lol. Jk, it was a lovely time. She definitely lived it up for those 7 days. Me on the other hand I was just happy to see her so happy. Are you sensing a little discernment in my tone, hahaha?

Ok, I'll cut to the chase. We went to the Dominican Republic and while there's absolutely nothing wrong with DR it's just not fairly high on my places to travel list, ok let me be honest, it's not on there period, lol. Natasha on the other hand loves it! As a matter of fact a few months before her birthday and a couple of times afterward she mentioned she couldn't wait to be on a beach in DR with a drink in her hand, lol. I guess that was my hint.

So, what's my beef with the Dominican Republic? It's not so much as a beef, it's.....ok so, let me put it like this. It's a popular destination and with popularity comes people traffic with people traffic comes wear and tear. You get where I'm going with this?

We've been to the DR before and I'm convinced this is just what it is. The first time we went we stayed at Meliã resort and let me tell you, the Meliã in DR is nothing like the Meliã in Milan. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I expected having stayed at a Meliã hotel before. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is a 5-star hotel in one place is not a 5-star elsewhere. What I've come to realize is, it desperately depends on where you are. It might be rated a 5-star comparable to its competition in its immediate environment. ๐Ÿ˜„

We stayed at the Majestic Mirage. Let me give it it's props before we go on. The grounds, beautiful, the food, above average, the entertainment is the main reason why I chose it. My wife is very sociable, she's the type that if spoken to will ask where you're from, and hold a conversation lol, anyway I digress. The entertainment was great. There was a different show every night, live music and dancing in their beautiful spacious courtyard. I'll even go a step further to say something I liked, lol. The superbowl party they put on was top-notch. I really wasn't expecting that and thoroughly enjoyed it. Notwithstanding Eden Roc Cap Cana was my first choice in terms of accommodations. It is off in the cut and less traffic. Buuuuuuut this wasn't about me, lol!

The next time I go because I know there will be a next time. Natasha has already announced she can't wait to go back. Anyway, when it does happen we'll be staying there (Eden Roc) or at a newly opened establishment.

Prove me wrong DR! Please! The prices are double at the time we go because her birthday falls around Valentine's day. Iโ€™ll give it another try but I can't pay 5-star prices for a 3-star establishment no-mo! ๐Ÿคฃ

None of this matters because I told her next year if I decide to do a trip it'll be to where I want her to go lol.

I thought this was going to be short and sweet. We went to the Dominican Republic, Natasha thoroughly enjoyed her birthday and this is where we stayed lol, but see I went in. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Remember the last time we spoke I had just started a room makeover which somehow turned into a full first-floor remodel. Yea, we've picked up where we left off. I've been posting step-by-step videos on my IG stories. Check'em out!

Till next time. Later readers. ๐Ÿ˜Š
