SECRET GARDEN

Happy new month guys! I didn’t know if this was going to be a diary entry or a full out blog…well see where we land at the end of it’ll. So, if you follow me on any of my social media platforms, you know on Sunday I raved about the most amazing brunch. It was here in Chicago. Yes, I was here two weeks ago and  yes, I’m back  lol. I just can’t seem to get enough of this place lol. The diversity, the food, the food, did I mention the food? Hahaha, but seriously the reason for the quick turnaround was an all white party my mom had Memorial Day weekend and the last three reasons I metioned above. ☺

Back to why I’m all up in y’all space right now. The brunch. It was fabulous. First off you have to purchase tickets in advance for the event. I first came across the event on Secret Chicago and purchased the tickets on Fever. They sell out weeks in advance, so plan accordingly. I purchased our tickets 2 weeks in advance and at that time there were only 4 tickets left, just an example to show you these tickets are selling like hot cakes. The bunch cost $60 per person and it includes and entree and bottomless mimosas. There are two times available to choose from 11am-1pm and 1-3pm. Naturally, I choose the 1-3pm anticipating two weeks in advance the kind of night I would have prior to the bunch, lol. My mom’s white party was the night before and sheesh, I didn’t think I was going to make the 1-3pm brunch time after the night I had. I probably wouldn’t have had I not purchased the tickets in advance, lol. 🤣 what a night!

Anyway make sure you get there before your scheduled brunch time because the first area to fill up is the top floor….and trust me, that’s where you want to be. We arrived late, lol… so the top floor was already full, (whomp 🥺whomp) and we were seated in a booth downstairs. It was beautiful don’t get me wrong but I wanted to be upstairs where I could clearly hear the party happening. I guess the manager sensed my unhappiness, walked over to the booth moments later and advised there was a table upstairs for us. Instant ear to ear smile from me accompanied by death stares from the other patrons at nearby tables lol! 😂

The whole vibe is just different upstairs. Both floors are beatifully decorated with flowers everywhere which definitely plays homage to the brunch name “Secret Garden.” 🌸🌺💐

The food was amazing. I had the shrimp and grits, my fiancee had the steak and eggs. The only complaint I would say I had was my entree was small. There could have definitely been some more grits on that plate, lol. The mimosa’s were strong, just how I like them. 80% champagne 20% juice. You’re definitely not sipping on capri-sun’s at the secret garden, mimosa’s done right, lol! There is also a full menu aside from the brunch menu you can purchase from with an array of beautiful cocktail as well. The vibe, the ambience, the food was nothing short of amazing and everything I would expect of a brunch in a city such as Chicago.

So, what have we learned? Brunch was bomb, get your tickets in advance, arrive early and have fun!

Also, the link provided here and above are good resources for things to do in Chicago. Go ahead and bookmark it. Thank me later, lol.

Did I mention this was a pop-up brunch? So don’t wait! It’s not gonna be around for long! Enjoy! Till next time. Later readers. 😊
