Better Skin

How often do you treat your face? Yes, treat...because let's be honest who’s doing apricot, mint, fresh tea, aloe and all the other treatments everyday?  Definitely not me. 😄

Confession. I did not go through the awkward teenage phase of pimples, acne, black heads etc. So I never knew the importance of taking care of your skin because...well, I never had to take care of mines. As I've grown older I've noticed some changes such as blemishes/light patches on my face coupled with dryness. No lie, I didn't know what to do lol! I just knew I didn't like it, so I did what most people would do. I called someone with great skin. 😂

I called my auntie/sister. Yes...auntie/sister, lol. She’s my aunt and we're the same age, only 6 months apart but thats a whole other story, lol. Anyway, we grew up in the same household and our skin journeys were totally different. Unlike me, she totally went through the... let's just call it "teenage skin phase" (I hope she doesn't kill me, lol.) fast forward to today she has the best skin ever and is my own personal face guru.

Over the years I've sought her counsel about all things face and I've learned so much. The first thing she ever said to me before embarking on this journey was that, I should have started a good skin regiment in my twenties. Here I was in my thirties…so fail, lol? Not really. I say it’s never too late and she says I’m lucky the skin Gods have been kind to me, lol.

The second most Important thing she told me was to be consistent. That was probably the best advice ever. I say that because I’m human and well If something is not a big issue we as humans tend to file it under not important lol and I admit sometimes I would skip my daily routine. I quickly got back on track once I noticed changes in my skin.

So, what is my skin routine? Well, It’s nothing major, It became quite simple actually once I found the right products for me. Along the way I learned that my skin is intolerant to a lot of products/brands, mostly due to the sensitive nature of my skin. So I quickly found that products with certain ingredients would not work for me. Once I came across thee perfect product, my routine was pretty simple. Be Transcendent Skin care line literally lays it out step by step. Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer. In that order.

Added bonus, I recently introduced a yummy treat (if i’m speaking for my skin and I am lol) to my skin regimen and guys listen….listen Linda! it is the best avocado mask I have ever used! My skin literally thanks me for incorporating Primitive Potions advocodo & honey mask to my routine. I usually treat myself 1-2times a week and my skin loves me for it. You’d love this stuff…I promise.

I’ve also fallen in love with the facial rollers and gua sha’s. They are designed to relieve tension and aid in lymphatic drainage while reducing puffiness and inflammation. It also feels soooo good. Ive read that 20mins a day and consistency is all it takes to see results. I seriously can’t confirm or deny that because I literally lose track of time. I like to put mines in the fridge because I like the coolness on my face. I just roll away at end of the day right before bed while catching up on some show. Oh, did I mention it relieves fine lines and wrinkles too. Score, lol! 🙌🏾

I’m always interested to learn about other skin care regimens. What do you do to promote better skin? Leave a comment below. I can’t wait to read it. Oh, I almost forgot, I’m currently doing a giveaway of the Rose Quartz Facial Roller on my Instagram, check it out for your chance to win. Until next time. Later Readers. 😊
